How I Start A Blog?

In my opinion, blogging is not as popular as it should be. Most of my peers don’t even know what a blog is. Once I explained a blog to them, they realized they should’ve created one long ago.

A blog is basically a personal website where you can express your thoughts and opinions on different topics. Many business owners and brands have a blog to build their brand awareness. Blogs are a way you can communicate with your audience to keep them updated on upcoming events or products. Having communication with your audience is how brand awareness gets stronger.

If you are the type that has been wanting to create a blog but isn’t sure how then I’m giving you the steps down below on how I started a blog. Follow the procedures if you want to get your own blog developed.

1. Create a blog name

Think of a unique blog name that won’t be difficult for people to remember. Your blog will eventually become a brand as people began visiting it to view the content so you want the name to be compelling for people who want to verbally share the blog with their friends. It’s gone be difficult to build brand awareness if your blog name not appealing or is hard for people to remember what’s it called.

2.Purchase a domain.

Once you thought of a name for your blog, it’s time to purchase a domain for it. A domain is a URL address that navigates people to your blog site. The domain should be the same as your blog name so it’s best to make sure the domain you want is available for purchase before you officially name your blog. The common blog names will be difficult to find a domain for so I advise you to make your blog name as unique as possible.

3.Purchase a web hosting

After you purchase your domain, it’s time to purchase web hosting for your domain. Web hosting is a server that stores all your website data. You can’t build or add elements to your website without purchasing a web host first. Without web hosting, none of the changes to your blog will be saved.

4. Build your website/blog

Now that you have web hosting for your website, it’s time to start adding elements to it. Elements such as web pages people can visit to learn more about your site. Create web pages that give more personal insight than a blog post can. An “about” page will tell the audience the purpose of your blog and what type of content to expect from your brand. Then creating a “contact” gives your audience an opportunity to communicate with you about the content you post or any products you sell.

Social media icons are another element you should have on your website to get your visitors to also visit your social media accounts and hopefully give you a follow. Creating elements on your website gives the audience ways to interact with your blog other than just reading about the content you post and then leaving and never visiting your blog again.

5. Post blog content!

Last but not least, it’s time to post content on your blog. Your website will not get any visitors if there’s no content posted for them to see. I advise people to post helpful content to their blogs. Helpful content attracts people to want to read the whole blog instead of just a portion of it.

Unhelpful content can cause your audience to get bored while reading and may not ever want to visit your blog again. You should post interesting content that will cause people to want to visit your blog every time you post something new. Having an audience who revisits your blog is how a popular brand gets developed.
